PARTICIPATORY THEATRE PERFORMANCE FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Age group: High school
Duration: 120 minutes
The play, embedded in an extraordinary literary lesson, aims to retell and analyse the main cultural events of the language revival era, with a lot of humour and interactive episodes, and to raise awareness of the importance of the cultivation of the Hungarian language, and to redefine the Széchenyi’s motto: The nation lives in its language!
The interactive episodes play an important dramaturgical role in the performance, during which the audience can express their opinions on the conflicts surrounding a language, argue for or against the neologists and orthologists, and experience the intellectual adventure of language renewal themselves. The performance is participatory theatre for secondary school students, but we plan to hold the preliminary professional performance for adults and young people together, so that the profession, teachers and the press can see it.
